MMFF 2014 still “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” remained at the top slot when it comes to box office earnings amounting to 200 million pesos as of December 28, 2014 3 days prior to its opening date on December 25.
The announcement was verified by Vice in his official Twitter account saying
“The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin closed Day 4 with 201Million. Maraming maraming salamat po Madlang People! Lolo must be very happy” Vice stressed.
The box office achievement is considered to be a record breaking one. Prior to its showing date on December 25 to 27 it amazingly earned 172 million pesos in just two days added by 29 million from 3:00 pm until the end of the day.
According to the most celebrated star Vice Ganda he is very thankful for the madlang people for the continual support and trust to the movie; it is really worthy to consider their hard work in the movie proven by their box office success.
The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin is a sequel of “The Unakbogable Praybeyt Benjamin” and considered to be a top grossing comedy movie. Meanwhile the stars of the movie Alex Gonzaga and Richard Yap were also grateful to the fans for watching the movie.
But as of now still the most top grossing movie in the Philippines is “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” still courtesy of Vice Ganda and Directed by Wenn Deramas garnering the total earnings of 456 million pesos (Domestic Gross).
Meanwhile following Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin is the horror movie “Feng Shui 2” followed by My Little Bossing and “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles where in the top four list of watch movies in MMFF 2014.
According MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino they just not release the official tally of earnings because some people think that the other movie should be included in the top list as well.
