The serious illegal detention case filed by Vhong Navarro against Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and the other accused will be handled by the new judge named Mariam Bien.
According to Vhong’s legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga, the case is now transferred to Taguig RTC Branch no. 153 under the supervision of judge Bien.
It is remembered that Judge Esperanza Paz was inhibited for handling the case because of the petition filed by Navarro’s camp, for allowing Cedric and the other to post bail against serious illegal which is supposed to be no a non bailable offense.
Judge Paz said that the evidence presented by Vhong’s camp is insufficient to convict the accused guilty against serious illegal detention case.
Atty. Mallonga added that the schedule of the next hearing is still tentative.
“Our motion for reconsideration on the granting of the bail to Lee, Raz and Cornejo will be among the pending motions the judge will have to resolve,” she said.
Judge Bien career background was she was the former assistant prosecutor of Rizal Province, wherein she formally push to convict the owners of San Mateo private school accountable with the incident of a student named Francis Silva who accidentally stabs his chest which cause to death.
This said fight is in relation to the mauling incident done to Navarro last January 22.
