Everyone can know to the big and green ogre “Shrek,” or his talkative friend “Donkey” which is partners to his great adventure, and extra-ordinary friends.
The Academy Award-winning film that makes people especially Filipinos loved every characters of this movie, and now the musical based from the movie Shrek, “Shrek the Musical” is on their way to Philippines and hits the stage at Meralco Theatre in Manila.
Rycharde Everley, playing the role of Shrek which is popularized by comedian Mike Meyers admitted that he is enjoyed to play with Filipino talents during his interview with the launch party of the musical.
The Filipina theatre actress Shiela Valderrama Martinez also says, she was very excited to play the role of Princess Fiona and she admitted that this is the one of her dream roles.
Then she adds “She was one of my idols. So I saw her closing a show in New York and I was so awed by it and then I thought, I’d love to do this role someday.”
Nyoy Volante commented his role as Donkey populated by Eddie Murphy in film, said “Minsan, I’m at a loss kung paano ko mapapalawak. Because if you see it, makulit lang, talkative but it is more than that. You have to find the Eddie Murphy in you.”
