Finally! Deniece Cornejo has been released from detention in Taguig City on Thursday, September 18, 2014 and she can live together with her family for temporary. After she post bail money worth P500, 000 for provitional liberty gave by the Taguig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) with Judge Esperanza-Cortez.
Together with Cedric Lee and Simeon “Zimmer” Raz Jr. they are charged with physical damage by comedian Vhong Navarro connecting to the mauling incident that happened in January 22, 2014.
In reports from DZMM by Edwin Sevidal, Deniece left the Taguig City detention jail around 4PM together with her family.
Meanwhile, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, the legal counsel of Deniece said it was a “small victory” from their opponent camp but for Deniece it is “mission accomplished.” Then he adds he will give time his client for her family in coming weekend to go in church for thanksgiving.
Atty. Topacio also criticized the camp of “Its Showtime” host legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga for filling motion for reconcillation and motion for inhibition in connection of bail grant approved by Judge Paz Esperanza-Cortez.
“Kami po natalo kami sa ilang desisyon sa kasong ito, pero wala po kayong narinig sa amin na ganito ganyan ang judge. Hindi ganun ang tamang attitude,” Atty. Topacio said.
Meanwhile, Rod Cornejo, Grandfather of Deniece was very happy together with her family for “major, major victory” after of struggle in detention and in case filed by Vhong is currently in Canada for live performances in Toronto and Edmonton.
“Bahala sila kung ano ang gusto nilang sabihan. We are really a democratic country,” Rod said.
