Actor/Host Vhong Navaro didn’t attended the mediation hearing held at the Taguig City Metropolitan Court while Cedric Lee’s group are present in the hearing. Navarro has a personal reason for not attending the hearing but he was represented by his legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga who said that mediation is “required and not a matter of choice”, according to the report.
The accused Cedric Lee, Bernice, Cornejo and Raz were present during the hearing at Taguig City Metropolitan Court. In an instant interview, Cedric Lee commented to the media on Vhong Navarro “Hindi dumating ‘yung r*p*st, e. May nire-r*p* pa sa ibang lugar. He also added: There’s no chance to have a settlement on Vhong Navarro.”
However, the annoying issue last January 22, 2014 about mauling incident involving the actor Vhong Navarro, model Deniece Cornejo who was the alleged victim has filed a [email protected] complaint against Navarro but the case was dismissed by the Department of Justice.
In connection to Navarro’s not showing during the hearing, Mallonga explained the mediator that they chooses her client do not appeared in the court during the hearing to avoid what had happened during the previous hearing with the third complainant. Atty. Mallonga was referring to the former beauty pageant that threw her sunglasses to her client. Mallonga also added that “Navarro is not willing to have a settlement between Lee’s group” and she also said that they’re keeping options open” in order to clarify these bothersome case. “Sinabi na namin na mahirap pag-usapan itong settlement. But we have a process to undergo. Tingnan natin ang mangyayari… We are going to consider giving way to the request of the mediator,” according to the reporters of ABS-CBN news.
“Among others, we did raise the fact that we had legitimate concerns about kung ano’ng mangyayari pag siya’y nandito ulit.”
The next mediation will be updated on July 7, 2014.
Cedric Lee hesitated when Atty. Mallonga confirmed “Nakita niyo? Bibigyan ba natin sila ng opportunities na gawin ito? Lahat ito’y iniipon namin,” she said. “Hindi nawawala sa isipan namin iyon. But in the end, what is important for us is that there are already cases pending and we are very confident that following the process, hopefully, we will get justice,” replied Mallonga to the reporters when Lee commented on Navarro’s no appearance during the mediation hearing.
Lee & Raz are now under observation while they remain under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) while Cornejo is under the custody of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the PNP headquarters located in Quezon City for the same case. The both of them are under observation by the Department of Justice while the case is still processing.
