Senate Probe Hearing only “Trial by publicity” against Senator Leila De Lima

In the Middle of different allegations Senator Leila De Lima is facing now, a netizen claims six reasons why the former Justice Secretary is on “trial by publicity.”

Facebook user Lyn Dimaano posted online last September 21 online her reasons as to why not be affected on the accusations against Senator De Lima.  This started after her friend reacted on the recent Congressional probe on the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) drug trade is beginning to believe on the witnesses accusations against De Lima.  The NBP is the Philippines’ national penitentiary located in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila.

The six reasons on Dimaano’s post focused on the alleged money from the illegal drug trade that was deposited in 19 banks thus showing deposits receipts amounting to P88.5 million owned by Senator and former DOJ secretary De Lima’s employees.

She also questions why all the strong evidence were presented in the Congress with all the media covering the hearing wherein once a lawsuit is presented in the court, the public cannot discuss it.  Dimaano claims there’s a “propaganda value” involved.
