A man from India was reportedly had undergone a serious operation after eating 40 knives.

According to the doctors, they removed 40 knives from his stomach after 2 months of being addictive of eating them.

The unidentified man underwent a five-hour surgery on Friday in Amritsar, a northern Indian City.

Dr. Jatinder Malhorta said in an interview that he was so nervous, a small mistake could take the patient’s life.  He also added that in his 20 years of practice, he has never experienced this. The doctor describes the unidentified man as addictive to consume metal and for them, it was even frightening.

Malhorta has found foldable knives inside the patient’s stomach, which when fully extended it was about seven inches long.  He said the patient swallowed some knives folded and some unfolded and when they took out the knives it had been started to rust and broken.

Long after the operation, the patient is out of danger and is set to be discharged in a couple of days until he is cleared by a psychiatrist.  Reports said, the patient is right now under the supervision of the hospital’s psychiatric team and will be visited by mental health experts. Malhorta believes the patient has a very rare mental disorder.

The patient is very thankful to the doctors and staff who saved his life and pleads by not doing such acts again.
