Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr Preferred Senatorial Candidates

The Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr who is running for his last term as an unpposed named his senatorial bets for the coming May 9 elections. The following names include Senate President Franklin Drilon, Sen. Sergio “Serge” Osmeña, former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Leyte first district Representative Martin Romualdez, and Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo.

Marañon explained that Miguel Zubiri helped push several projects beneficial to Negros Occidental when he was senator, while Serge Osmeña has done a lot to help the sugar industry of the province. The governor also said he may not fill out the remaining slots for senatorial candidates in his ballot.

The governor supports Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel Roxas II running for president.  He said that people should check each candidates they are rooting for is capable if fulfilling their promises once their elected and whether or not their platforms and qualities suit the country in the long run.
